So, here is my “Best of 2016” by yours truly, Matthew Leland Photography. These posts are so challenging. As a working photographer, I capture thousands of images in a year and it’s very hard to actually choose what you feel is your best work for the year. Some stand out quite powerfully as something you’re proud of, others you love but you as an artist are not sure if they share the message you’re trying to convey.
I tried to best to narrow down the best images that not only challenged me, but I found myself very proud of as I look. These contain people from all parts of California, Nevada, Colorado, Canada and even Australia… which is something I’m very proud of. It’s been amazing getting the chance to meet folks from all over the world and work with them.
I hope you enjoy these images as I’m very happy with so many of them. And most importantly, they made those I shot with happy. From the weddings I covered sharing the love of that couple to generations to come, to making women feel empowered and sexy in their own skin as I show them another way to look at themselves, there is more then just taking an image that I enjoy.
So here is to 2017! Sure, it’s just a number some say but that doesn’t mean it can’t be more then that. I hope to have more amazing experiences like I did last year and I hope even more as I try new things and meet new folks in my travels. Thank you all that supported me in my work; it means more then you all know.
